Transportation Coordinator/CNA - Riverdale

The primary responsibility of your job position is to load, transport, and unload residents for medical appointments and activity outings in accordance with all laws and regulations.  


  • Assist passengers with the on-boarding and off-boarding of vehicle

  • Transport passengers to and from destination at assigned times or in case of emergency

  • Provide customer service and friendly interactions with all passengers

  • Must complete pre-inspections before us of vehicle

  • Must clean van each night, removing daily debris

  • Must clean van, inside and out, on a weekly basis

  • Must monitor regular maintenance (i.e. oil changes, tire rotations)

  • Must practice dependable, regular attendance

  • Must be able to lead, transport, and unload residents

  • Perform all other duties, as requested

  • Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or its equivalent

  • Must have valid driver’s license 

  • Must be insurable by the company

  • Must possess CNA certification

  • Prior experience in healthcare or geriatrics preferred but not necessary


  • Involved with residents, associates, and staff under all conditions and circumstances

  •  Subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, associates, etc

  • May be assigned to other appropriate positions as necessary

  • Works beyond normal duty hours, on weekends, when necessary

  • Is subject to call back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.)

  • Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., throughout the workday, as well as reactions from dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminants

  • Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses

  • May be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals


  • Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility.

  • Must be able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action

  • Must be able to concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment

  • May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations

  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, and move intermittently during working hours

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs floor to waist, lift 10 lbs waist to shoulder, lift and carry 50 lbs, and push/pull 50 lbs
